CM Dhami Announces Renaming of Various Places Across Four Districts

Dehradun, March 29: In a significant decision, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the renaming of various locations in Haridwar, Dehradun, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar districts. The renaming initiative is in alignment with public sentiment and Indian cultural heritage, honoring historical figures and reflecting national pride.

Renamed Places:

Haridwar District:

• Aurangzebpur → Shivaji Nagar

• Gajiwali → Arya Nagar

• Chandpur → Jyotiba Phule Nagar

• Mohammadpur Jat → Mohanpur Jat

• Khanpur Kursli → Ambedkar Nagar

• Indrishpur → Nandpur

• Khanpur → Shri Krishna Pur

• Akbarpur Fazalpur → Vijayanagar

Dehradun District:

• Miyanwala → Ramji Wala

• Pirwala → Kesari Nagar

• Chandpur Khurd → Prithviraj Nagar

• Abdullah Nagar → Daksh Nagar

Nainital District:

• Nawabi Road → Atal Marg

• Panchakki to ITI Road → Guru Golwalkar Marg

Udham Singh Nagar District:

• Sultanpur Patti municipal council → Kaushalya Puri

Chief Minister Dhami emphasized that these changes are a step toward preserving India’s rich cultural heritage and recognizing great personalities who played a role in shaping history. “These renamings resonate with the people’s emotions and our country’s deep-rooted traditions,” he stated.
